Summary

I am a Software Engineer specifically interested in back-end development. I like a challenge, and am particularly drawn to high-performance compute or other extreme requirements. I am a Master of Science, and have about 6 years of industry experience.

I have almost 3 years of experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift. I am fluent in Go, Python, Dutch and English. I am also capable of writing C, Java (also for Android), JavaScript, Bash, HTML and SQL. Interested in Rust. Comfortable with Linux.

I live in Purmerend. I highly prefer to work remotely full-time.

I completed my Bachelors with Cum Laude and with Honors. For the Honors programme I worked on an application to enable visually and mentally impaired people to move and sport more independently (see projects page for details). For my Bachelor's thesis I researched detection of (phone) recorded watermarked content using machine learning.

My Master's thesis was about cost effectively running high-performance financial applications on Kubernetes, which I achieved an 8.2 for (Dutch grading scale).

Even though my school days are at an end, I always aim to learn and improve. I enjoy watching conference talks and reading technology (programming) related books. In addition, I also like to share my knowledge with others and am quite adept in presenting.
